Lotus Arts de Vivre has created these refined hand-crafted Jade Earrings from carved green Jades, complemented with white Pearls, facetted brown and black Diamond beads, rose-cut white Diamonds mounted in Black Rhodium plated Sterling Silver and 18K Gold.
The Jades originated in Myanmar and was hand carved in China. Although jadeite deposits are found throughout the world (Guatemala, Japan, Russia, and California), Burma remains the primary source of best Jade. Myanmar's jadeite mines occupy a privileged place, representing a principal source of fine jadeite jade, hidden in the mountains where geography, soil, and climate all come together to produce the finest. The sourcing of the Jade from Myanmar and carving it in China began in 1780’s with Emperor Qianlong, who extended China's jurisdiction into northern Burma, calling it the “Imperial Gem”. From the late 18th century on, considerable amounts of jadeite were transported to Beijing and the workshops of China's foremost jade carvers, which continues to this day. Jade therefore was used for the finest objects and cult figures and for grave furnishings for high-ranking members of the Imperial family.
