An elegant Art Deco ring, decorated with a row of Diamonds around the entire edge that has been set on Black Rhodium plated Sterling Silver. Along its center, the ring has been embellished with beautiful Scarab wings.
The collection drew inspiration from the elegance of the 1930s Art Deco movement, an influential visual arts design style that first appeared in France. The style is often characterized by rich colors, bold geometric shapes and lavish ornamentation. Merged with the iridescent colours of Scarab wings, the ring sits beautifully on the fingers making it easy to wear during the day or even formal evening ‘dressed up’ gatherings.
Producing scarab designs is a painstaking process where each scarabae piece is carefully selected according to color and is shaved to a certain thickness and then glued on. Each piece takes typically 5-10 minutes of work, and with each piece of Jewelry having anywhere between 50 to 1,000 scarab pieces, depending on their size, they become timeless pieces. Historically, the scarab beetle was admired because of its reproduction process which seems miraculous. The Egyptians made it a god like creature and the Chinese put a jade scarab into the mouth and ears of the diseased emperors to help find a peace in their afterlife.
The piece took 7 craftsmen and designers 1.5 months to complete.
