This fabulous Lotus Arts de Vivre Peacock embroidery inspired clutch jewelled painstakingly vintage black silk and brocade and a wide array of preciousness embroidered alternately with Blue Sapphires, Emerald, and 14K Yellow gold; is an ode to the roaring 1900-1920s of elaborate opulence. The elegance touch up was the 24K Gold Leaves painted on the genuine selected bamboo pieces. The frame are ‘seamlessly’ designed with equal craftsmanship with satin fabric. The ensemble of various textiles and brocade embellished by the handcraft embroidery by Indian craftsmen onto this clutch brings the ‘Dance’ of this Peacock to life.

About the Textiles: Rolf and wife, Helen, roam the globe in search of suitable textiles for their inspiration pieces of Handbags. Materials were collected from Japan, Europe, India, Indonesia, and China. The textiles, most of which are categorized as antique or vintage, were from the period 1880’s to 1950’s. A combination of these materials are intricately and artistically handcrafted onto the Bags.

About the Peacock Inspiration: Inspired by the two peacocks that roam freely in his lush and spacious garden, Rolf von Bueren couldn’t help but be transfixed by their amazing beauty and their intelligence, their familiarity as they come up to the window and tap the pane as a form of greeting, and their territorial habits. This passion for the peacock, and the spirit of this magnificent bird, have been perfectly transmuted into the entire collection. At the centre of the collection is a limited edition series of silk evening bags adorned by peacock motifs. The peacock is a possessor of some of the most admired human characteristics, and is a symbol of integrity and the beauty we can achieve when we endeavor to show our true colors. In history, myth, legend and lore, the peacock symbolism carries portents of: Nobility, Holiness, Guidance, Protection and Watchfulness. In Chinese culture, the Peacock was a symbol of the Ming Dynasty, representing divinity, rank, power, and beauty. The peacock with its tail of 100 eyes is also associated with the goddess Guan Yin, resembling protection and holiness and Buddhists also connect peacock’s feather with openness since the bird dazzlingly displays everything when fanning its tail out.
