Creating a hand-hammered bronze bowl is a fascinating and intricate process that combines traditional craftsmanship with skilled metalworking techniques

Material : Selecting High-quality bronze, an alloy of copper and tin, is chosen for its durability and aesthetic appeal.
Heating: The bronze is heated to make it malleable.
Hammering: The heated bronze is hammered by hand using various hammers and anvils to shape it into the desired form. This process creates the distinctive textured surface.
Annealing: The bowl is periodically reheated to relieve stress and prevent cracking during the hammering process.
Shaping: The bowl is gradually shaped into its final form through continued hammering and annealing.
Finishing: The bowl is polished, and any sharp edges are smoothed out. 

This technique is labor-intensive and requires skill and precision, resulting in unique and artisanal pieces. 

This piece is part of the private collection of Ralf Ohletz Count von Plettenberg, who hails from an extensive lineage of German nobility, tracing back to 1187.
