| A beautiful organic formation of ‘Sandalwood’ designed into a Sterling Silver Lion, making a beautiful sculpture. Sandalwoods are heavy, yellow, and fine-grained, and, unlike many other aromatic woods, they retain their fragrance for decades. Sandalwood oil is extracted from the woods for use. Sandalwood is often cited as one of the most expensive woods in the world. The lion is a very diverse symbol. Its most common traits are: majesty, strength, courage, justice, and military might. Commonly referred to as "the KING of the beasts," it is a symbol of Kingly power, might and protection. After sourcing these extremely valuable organic formations of ‘Iron Wood’, it took approximately 10 weeks labour to create this piece with over 8 designers and craftsmen involved.
