Art Deco Silk Handbag with Jade, Ruby, Pink Tourmaline
The teardrop body is cut from high-quality Thai silk with permanent pleats accentuating the form, lined with black satin and closed with a loop mechanism. Each bag is individualized with a unique jeweled object, in this case a snake forged from silver gold gild and accented with Jadeite cabochon, pink tourmalines, rubies and full- cut diamonds.
The collection drew inspiration from the elegance of the 1930s Art Deco movement. Art Deco or Deco, is an influential visual arts design style that first appeared in France and which borrowed from china. Much larger brands travelled to the east every year and absorbed Chinese style into their art deco designs and the same happened in many fields, whether carpets, or furniture, glass and Chinese porcelain. The style is often characterized by rich colors, bold geometric shapes and lavish ornamentation and often the Jewelry designs are embellished with Jade.
This collection of evening bags represent the ultimate marriage of simplicity and sophistication and can be used for everyday wear. The piece took 6 weeks to complete with over 9 craftsmen and designers involved at various stages.
